School of Law

Washburn University School of Law prides itself on its successful, student-centered approach to teaching. Students are provided with an environment conducive to learning and are offered classes large enough to include multiple perspectives and contrary ideas, yet small enough to encourage student interaction with professors and classmates. An open-door policy invites students to meet with professors outside of class. A collegial atmosphere embraces diversity and an open exchange of views. Nearly 150 courses, seminars and clinical offerings are available.

In 2002, Washburn Law built upon its tradition of excellence in teaching with the establishment of three Centers for Excellence. The fourth Center of Excellence, Law and Government, was established in 2008. The Centers enhance the educational experience by providing opportunities for students to interact with exceptional legal practitioners through programming, lectures, and discussion.

Donations of any size can make a difference for the School of Law. Even small amounts given over time can accumulate to create substantial resources for the school. You will be recognized as a member of the School of Law Dean’s Circle by making an annual gift of $1,000 or more to be used for any purpose within the school.
