Washburn University Foundation takes great pride in raising funds to help hundreds of students finance their life-changing and transformational study-abroad trips. Many of these students could not have earned the global experience without the financial assistance. I profoundly admire the people and deeply appreciate the work they do at the WEA. -
Dr. Baili Zhang, Director of International Programs

The Mission of the Office of International Programs is to aggressively develop and maintain a level of international competence commensurate with the needs of students and faculty within the university, businesses, and organizations in the community, to promote the value of international awareness.
One important component of the Office of International Programs is Washburn University's Intensive English Program (IEP). This program is a series of English classes developed to assist international students in need of improving their English skills before being accepted into a degree program. It is also available to area residents whose native language is not English to improve their ability to interact in the community and on the job.
In addition to coordinating international students on Washburn’s campus, this office also offers dozens of study abroad opportunities to a number of countries. Both long-term and short-term study abroad programs are available and the Office of International Programs will work closely with students to find a program that meets their interests while still continuing their education.
A contribution to the International Program at Washburn will benefit students from other countries coming to our campus as well as students seeking study abroad opportunities.
